Welcome to Lakeland United and Rising

We are a grass-roots gathering of ordinary people with a common goal: to educate, equip and empower Lakeland residents to think regionally, and to engage our neighbours in creating a strong, secure future.

We came together around the common concern that the COVID-19 crisis, while real and tragic, was being exploited to create international panic. This international panic will gradually destabilize nations, cultures and communities, resulting in the growing belief that only international forces can rescue us. 

While it seems to be a charitable belief – that all humanity must come together against a common foe – we believe that this trend toward “globalism” (for an explanation of this word, see our Articles section!) will actually cause less security for our communities. In short, we believe that the responsibility of our neighbours’ well-being falls on US – their own neighbours.
